Season One Topics
-
A Gospel Lens
Learning to see culture through Christ, rather than Christ through culture.
-
Categories of Engagement
Learn to discern when Jesus calls us to belong to culture, when we are called to distance ourselves, and how to engage redemptively.
-
Identity
How is our identity formed? Discuss where you have been formed by 'outward' sources; where you have looked 'inward'; and how God the Father invites you to look 'upward' to hear His voice.
-
Technology + AI
As tech further encroaches on every aspect of our being, we pause to consider the implications of our "cyborg reality". As heart-soul-mind-strength complexes designed for love, is our tech usage fostering relationships of love or diminishing them?
-
Reconciliation in Canada
Reconciliation is a central aspect of the gospel. In Canada, our history of colonization of Canada's Indigenous people did not demonstrate this. How is the church invited to seek reconciliation by educating ourselves about our history and then being artisans of peace in our communities?
-
Integration
The goal is that we live increasingly integrated lives; that no area of our lives would be untransformed by the life of Christ.

Season Two Topics
-
Intro to Christianity + Culture
Matters of Truth Or Matters of Conscience. Learning to see culture through Christ, rather than Christ through culture.
-
In the Air: Ideas + Ideology
Learn how to pay attention to an invisible aspect of culture that forms and informs our perspectives on everything. Ideas are "in the air" and if we don't notice them we won't realize the ways they affect us.
-
Medical Assistance in Dying
Canada is one of most permissive jurisdictions in the world when it comes to Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). What is the Christian vision for good dying? Is it ever acceptable to act with intent to take the life of yourself or someone else? What does Jesus' death teach us about good dying?
-
Sexual Ethics + Gender Ideology
Our culture spreads a powerful narrative about human sexuality that we need to bring into conversation with Christ and the Scriptures. What is the positive Christian vision for our sexuality? How do we relationally engage people who disagree with us on matters of sexual ethics with both empathy and conviction?
-
Earth Keeping
There is a great deal of polarization around environmental topics in our day. The Bible calls us to a radical response. God makes humans "from the earth" expressing an inseparable relationship with the earth we live in. God also commissions humans to "work it and keep it", giving us responsibility for its care and flourishing. So, how are we doing at that?
