Our Care ministry provides support and spiritual companionship to people of all ages facing life crises, significant challenges, and changes. Whether you or someone you love needs prayer, a home or hospital visit, or mental health support, we’re here to help. You don’t have to do it alone.
Seeking professional help?
Our Counselling Centre offers professional therapy for people with a variety of challenges, including mental health concerns, relationship problems, and personal struggles. We provide a nonjudgmental, confidential setting in which you can discover the strength to move on.

Spiritual Care Course
Our 4-week Spiritual Care Course is offered a couple of times a year. It is designed to provide both foundational knowledge and practical tools to ensure you are well-equipped to provide compassionate care to those in need. It is for anyone who is interested in this topic, and a prerequisite class for everyone who wants to be a part of the Spiritual Care Team.

Prayer Request

Tea & Company — Grief Support Drop-In Group
If you have lost a spouse, a family member, or a friend, you may have found it can be a lonely, discouraging time and that grieving takes longer than you’d like. Tea and Company is a place where you can chat with others who have also experienced a loss and understand what you are facing. Facilitators from our Care Ministry will also be present to support you as well. Join us on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays in the Café at 1:30pm.

Connect with us online every third Sunday at 5:30pm for a supportive adoption and fostering group where faith and community come together to share and uplift each other.

Living Well
Living Well is a faith-based peer support group for individuals exploring mental wellness. It is a relational drop-in group time where you can connect with others to share experiences and gain support and encouragement in your journey. These times are facilitated by endorsed members of our Spiritual Care Team. We meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday, 7:00- 8:30pm, January to May in Room L02 (lower level). You are welcome to drop in any evening to see if this is of interest to you.

We would be privileged to pray for you. Your request will be confidentially sent to one of our pastors, or an approved person on our prayer team. You can choose if you would like to be contacted about your request, or even to have the request spread to our wider prayer network if we deem that appropriate

The Spiritual Care Team is comprised of approved volunteers from Peace Portal who have completed the Spiritual Care Course and who are entrusted to be thoughtful spiritual companions with others who may be facing isolation or a variety of crises in life.

While both are under the overall umbrella of Peace Portal, the Care Ministries are largely peer-oriented and peer led, while the Counselling Centre is a professional service with Registered Clinical Counsellors, and is a paid service.

Although we are not a funeral home, Peace Portal does offer memorial services at select times. We also offer a variety of other bereavement supports. To explore this further, please contact our memorial services coordinator.
